Haze

Sonjai sits a half-empty bottle of wine on the coffee table before she takes a seat on the couch and rests her head on my lap. This has to be about the third Christmas movie we done watched since I made it here. The kids tapped out before the first movie even started. Dreka was more than happy to send my baby packing after she pumped her up with sugar. I don’t blame her cause I’d do the same if the roles were reversed.

“I know this random but you got a picture of yo sister? To get some information I’mma needs to get her picture out there so I can see what turns up.” I say hoping she doesn’t ask any questions.

“Oh, yeah. I’ll text it to you, give me a second.” She says as she reaches for her phone that’s sitting beside the wine.

I watch as she unlocks her phone and search through her camera roll for a picture of her sister. As she scrolls through her camera roll, I get to see all her different personalities. I know I said it before but I’ll say it again, Sonjai is beautiful as fuck and her body is banging. She finally stumbles upon a picture of her sister and I can tell it’s old as hell. Unfortunately, it’s the same girl in the picture I got from Dre. This just fucked everything up for me because now I had to make a hard decision.

Sonjai sends the picture to me then exits out of the conversation. I watch as she replies to some of her unanswered texts and notices that it’s one particular message thread that she keeps scrolling past. There’s no name on the contact just a number. As she texting Ella back the number pops up on the screen as a phone call. She instantly declines it but it calls back. This goes on for about 2 to 3 minutes before she gets frustrated and tosses the phone back onto the table.

“You good, baby?” I ask.

“Yeah, I’m straight. Why you ask?” She says.

“Threw that phone a little aggressively.” I point out.

“Oh, some random ass number keeps blowing my damn phone up and every time I block it another one hits me up.” She sighs.

“You got people playing on yo phone, huh,” I say.

“It’s probably just my ex. I think I’mma change my number cause the shit is getting annoying.” She says.

“Aye, you stopped sharing yo location with him right?” I ask.

“Yeah and I blocked him but somehow he getting all these new numbers to contact me from.” She says.

“Just say the word and it’s handled,” I respond.

“What you mean?” She asks just before there’s a knock at the door. “Hold on, I’ll be right back.” She says before getting up off the couch and jogging out of the room to answer the door.

A few minutes pass before I hear some glass break. I instantly hop up to see what the fuck going on. I rush out of the room and make my way to the front door.
